The Night Talker
We're convinced Senna's language development is happening at precisely 3:44 a.m. How else can you explain the fact that about every other morning she wakes up at that time and starts speaking, or singing, wide awake, no matter how dark it is, or how much we ignore her?
This week's ungodly-hour Senna musings:
- "Daddy get pants! Daddy go to clothing store yesterday!" (I didn't know she knew "yesterday"!)
- "Senna Diane Kajitani. Senna Diane Kajitani."
- "Mrs. Chung has teddy bear. Clap clap hello. Tap Tap hello." (Mrs. Chung runs the Book Babies program at the library, where they sing that hello song -- with a bear.)
And, oh so many more I can't remember right now, because of course I am ridiculously sleep-deprived!

Never mind "yesterday," I'm impressed she knows "clothing store!"
Way to talk, Senna!
