Oh yeah, the other thing we're doing this summer is trying to accomplish some home improvements. Take a look:

For Alex and my birthdays, my folks gave us a new screen door (the door for me, the installation for Alex!). Senna loves to look out at the neighborhood and greet visitors, and we love the light and breeze. Here's the inside view:

We also finally bit the bullet and got "new grass" (as Senna calls it) in our little backyard. The seeds never sprouted so we had a dirt pile that Senna and friends would get all over them, and then Senna gets a rash from playing on real grass. So this is actually faux grass! Great for the environment (no watering, chemicals), for low-maintenance folks like us, and for allergic kids, we never thought we'd see the day that we'd get fake grass, but it's working out great!

Senna now enjoys toodling around outside the house even more (for those of you who haven't been here, a little glimpse of the lovely townhouse we call home...)
