Backyard Fun

Well, I'm excited to learn we have five regular readers, and all of you are very in touch with Senna Lanuguage! Yes, "ba-ka-yah-dee" is, in fact, "backyard" -- Senna's newest favorite place, as you get a taste from the photo above.

She pretty much can't be in our kitchen/family room now without running to the sliding door and yelling, "Back-a-yah-dee!" to go out and explore our little patio. She collects rocks, plays in the sandbox, visits her new garden friends from Grandma Karen (butterfly, above, and frog, below) and , of course, yells "Hi!" to the neighbors, birds, airplanes, trucks, cats -- you name it -- over the fence.

She also still loves the playground, where one of us takes her most days. She runs after the big kids yelling "Peekaboo!" and "Hi!" or patting them nicely on the arm. Smiling always, and now running, climbing, demanding "Up!" if she can't climb it, chasing any ball or bicycle that comes her way -- is it any wonder we're exhausted at the end of each night?! Oh, and of course the beach is still the most favorite place -- now she runs up sand dunes, then rolls down them laughing. She is joy, she is tiring and hilarious, we are thankful.

And, now, for this week's Word of the Week: "Neh-nuh." Guesses?

Neh-nuh -- let's see -- "banana?" Or maybe "nurse?" :)

I'm going to go with "banana". "Nurse" is something else (I would know it if I heard it).
