Senna's Spring Break
Some good (and correct) guesses on last week's words of the week! So, "buh" is "ladybug" (although in just a week it has turned into "bugck!") and "buh-buh" is and remains "butterfly." And, yes, to confirm, the previous week's "ne-nuh" is absolutely "Senna"!
Her words are coming fast and furious now. We now have "dude" (hmmm, where'd she get that?), "big girl" (amazingly clear), "vacuum," "dirt," "strawberry" (sounds like "sa-bey") -- and these are just in the last couple days! Her catch-all word for anything she doesn't have a name for is "ka-jee" -- funny, and Alex always says "tanee" afterwards (Kajitani...).
She is also learning how to turn anything and everything on and off -- lights, electronics, the air purifier. Oy. And, as Dad took her to the beach almost every day of his spring break and was surely checking out the waves often, she has started to turn her attention from just the sand to the "ba-da!!" (water). Look out!!
Finally, child of the new eco-age that she is, she now grabs the canvas bags we take shopping, marches to the front door and says "Crop!" Cream of the Crop is the little natural store where we buy most of our produce. They know and love Senna there, and she delights in telling me their names, over and over -- her favorites are "ga-gose-peekaboo" (Carlos, who plays peekabo with her) and "mey-mey" (Mary). They have little carts Senna loves to ride in, and she gets so happy when I let her hold pieces of fruit or veggies. Ah, life is sweet when you're 14 months old! :)
This week's word: "ga-ba" Hint: it's a person.
