A Much Better Poem!

At barely two, Senna has taken to poetry! We showed her my old Shel Silverstein book, A Light in the Attic, a few weeks ago and it was all over. She reads (and now recites, on her own accord) poems with Alex every night before bed.

Her first favorite is called "Melinda Mae." Here are the words, so you can try to follow her on video (and don't worry if you can't!!).

Have you heard of tiny Melinda Mae,
Who ate a monstrous whale?
She thought she could,
She said she would,
So she started right in at the tail.

And everyone said, "You're much too small,"
But that didn't bother Melinda at all.
She took little bites and she chewed very slow,
Just like a good girl should.
And in eighty-nine years she ate that whale
Because she said she would!
