We have VERBS and PRETENDING!
Sorry for the delay; a crazy week around here!
So, last week's word "dup-bop" is most definitely "surfboard"!! Senna is in love with surfboards at the moment, and points out every dup-bop on our morning beach outings. She has a book about a surfing duck named Pablo and she does every move (stand, jump, spin, flip, wipeout!), and points to surfers walking by and says, "Pablo! Daddy! Dup-bop!"
Tonight Alex took her to the park for a few minutes while waiting to pick up our Thai food dinner treat. When it was time to go get the food, he said, "Come on, Senna." She looked back at him and said, "Come on, Dude!"
She also now says "Buck-a-ba COOK-ing" (her favorite food is still broccoli), "sit down," "stand up," "go," and, with a special twist, "Dance!" (She has a game with her Grandpa David where he sings her a song about dancing on the phone. So now she picks up her toy phone and says, "Senna, Dance! Pa-da," and nods and dances.)
I am in love with all her new pretending games: along with the Pa-da dancing and going to "Crop," she now takes her toy stroller from Aunt Susan and does "walks... beach!" and calls out names of our neighbors and friends and waves as she pushes her stuffed toys around. She even walks backwards with the stroller and says "steps!" -- imitating me dragging her stroller up the steps in front of our house. She pretend cooks in the kitchen, too.
Seriously, I have more videos and photos coming. (It's hard to get her on film; the minute we pull out a camera she stops what she's doing and wants to see it!) Right now I've got to go get the hand-off from Alex for the nightly sleep-rocking ritual... yes, the Bunny still doesn't want to miss a minute. Hugs to all!
