Fun Chats
Today, with Alex, playing "store":
Alex: Thank you for my candles, Senna. Would you like ONE DOLLAR or FIVE NICKELS for these candles?
Senna: I'd like one dollar. AND five nickels.
Yesterday morning, hanging out in Mommy & Daddy's room after wake-up:
(Mommy & Daddy chatting about something.)
Senna: Mommy, I'll email you about the owl.
Daddy (to Mommy): Did she just say email?
Mommy (to Daddy): I believe she did. (to Senna) You'll email me about the owl?
Senna: Yes, about my friend the owl.
Mommy: Ok, thanks! (???!)
Last week, before our trip to the famous Flower Fields in Carlsbad:
Megan: There are hundreds and thousands of flowers there.
Senna: What are the flowers called?
Megan: Rununculas. Can you say Rununculas?
Senna: Rununculas.
Megan: Good!!
Senna: But let's just call them flowers.
Megan: They have chickens there, too. You can watch the chickens pecking and hear them clucking.
Senna: What's the chicken's name?
Megan: I don't know. What would you like to name the chicken?
Senna: (pondering) I think.... Tempeh!*

Here she is at the Flower Fields, on a wagon being pulled by a tractor!
* For those of you unfamiliar, tempeh is a soy product, kind of like a meat substitute, which makes this answer particularly funny since we don't eat chicken/meat.
